The Indian King Tavern Museum hosts group tours of many types. These include school aged field trips, Boy and Girl Scouts, and adult learners. Most programs can be tailored to meet the needs and interests of the group. Lessons include pre and post classroom study and research suggestions.
School Programs
- Grades: 3rd through 12th
- Availability: year-round with advance notice
- Topics: Colonial Life, Colonial Trades, New Jersey: Becoming a State, Revolutionary War and the Indian King
- Time: Visits are approximately 1.5 hours and can be scheduled for morning or afternoon.
Scout and Youth Groups
Grades: 2nd and above
- Availability: year-round with advance notice
- Topics: We will work with your leadership to meet the needs of your groups, i.e. badge and/or project requirements.
- Time: Visits are approximately 1 to 1.5 hours in length
Girl Scouts (Juniors)
- Playing in the Past Badge
- Availability: year-round with advance notice
- This program meets the requirements for the Playing in the Past Badge.
- Time: This visit takes approximately 1.5-2 hours to complete badge requirements.
Adult Learning
- The museum welcomes adult learning groups from public and private organizations.
- Availability: year-round with advance notice
- Topics: varied tours/programs can be tailored to meet the needs and interests of the group.
- Time: Visits from 45 minutes up to 2 hours can be accommodated
Reservations
All programs must be reserved at least two weeks in advance of a visit. To schedule an education program for a group, please call the site at (856) 429-6792. When calling, have several dates available in which your group might visit. Programs can be scheduled for morning or afternoon.
There currently is no fee for any of the listed programs. However, donations are encouraged. If you plan for a hands-on activity for during your visit, we request your group cover the cost of the activity.
